Experience the wonderful expressive qualities of painting with oils and learn basic oil painting techniques in this Oil Painting Workshop with qualified artist and art tutor Zangmo Alexander. You can work on any subject of your choice - representational or abstract.

Everyone is welcome, and all materials are included in the price, so you can try oil painting before deciding whether this medium is for you. There will be step by step tuition, demonstrations and practical exercises showing techniques including dry brush, underpainting, glazes, palette knife, brushwork and impasto using oil paint, along with loads of individual guidance.

Oil painting is enjoying a renaissance because it is easier to blend and offers more subtle colours than acrylic paint, so come and give it a try! Some basic drawing and colour mixing skills would be useful, but not essential.

Who is the workshop suitable for?

There will not be the time to tteach you drawing, and you will need at least basic drawing skills to design your painting.
