Learn the basics of watercolour painting in this one day art workshop!

This Watercolour Painting Workshop is ideal for complete beginners, and we will be starting from step one, assuming absolutely no prior experience of watercolour painting. This means that you will all be at approximately the same level, beginning the watercolour journey together!

Lots of step-by-step Painting tuition, demonstrations and individual guidance

In this friendly, informal atmosphere with Art Teacher Zangmo Alexander, there will be no more than four students in this watercolour course, which ensures that you will get plenty of individual guidance as and when you need it.

In this small, friendly art workshop we will:

  • Learn about Watercolour Painting materials and equipment. Basic materials will be supplied, so you can have a go without spending out, and find out whether you might enjoy this medium! By the end of the day, you should have an understanding of what you will to look out for (and avoid) when buying watercolour painting materials.

  • Learn in a step by step way how to create flat, gradated and variegated watercolour washes using wet on dry, wet on wet and wet on damp techniques. These are the basic washes, which you can then take home and practise. There will be follow-up Watercolour workshops, and you always have the option of booking One-To-One Art lessons with Zangmo.

  • Depending on prior experience of students, we will also explore colour mixing both in the palette and on the paper.
