Learn how to mix exciting, creative colour combinations! Explore ways of creating lively, expressive compositions for your paintings, in any subject matter of your choice!

Colour and composition are an essential part of painting, so it is well worth spending a weekend learning the basics, or taking the basics a bit further if you already have some experience.

By the end of the weekend you should have increased your skills, confidence and knowledge about the use of colour and composition in painting, and understand how to go about exploring and expressing ideas for paintings which are personal to you.

Only four students in this small, friendly art course led by Zangmo Alexander MA Fine Art PGCE - enjoy plenty of art demonstrations, step-by-step exercises and one-to-one art tuition, so you get lots of encouraging attention and tuition!

LEARN:

  • how to explore an art theme of personal interest in any medium of your choice
  • how to mix the colours you want, (ever tried to mix purple and ended up with brown?) and different ways of applying them
  • the different effects colours can have on a painting
  • how to create the most interesting and exciting compositions for your paintings.
