This Beginners Distance Learning Drawing Course is ideal for complete beginners, and assumes no prior knowlege or art experience. It aims to help you gradually build up your drawing skills, confidence, knowledge and creativity in a fun, challenging, easy to follow way.

Wherever you live, you can do a Beginners Distance Learning Drawing Course with me from the comfort of your own home, at your own pace. My name is Zangmo Alexander, and I am a fully qualified Art Teacher and Artist/Photographer with 28 years' experience teaching drawing, painting and photography to adults and young people in the community, schools, mental health and colleges and distance learning.

I believe we are all creative. Most absolute beginners, while initially doubting their artistic ability, are surprised at how quickly they can create interesting drawings if they are prepared to put time into their study and are properly supported.

What Do I Learn on this Beginners Distance Learning Drawing Course?

3. Perspective and spatial depth: different ways to create illusions of spatial depth in drawings

4. Exploring Ways of Seeing: Looking more closely at objects to learn more creative ways of seeing and drawing

5. The Human Head: anatomy, proportion, angles, shapes, form, shading, perspective, expression

6. Composition and Visual Expression: different ways of creating an interesting, unusual and expressive pictures – fundamental to taking your ideas further

By the end of this Beginners Distance Learning Drawing Course course you will:

1. Have had varied opportunities to develop knowledge, skills and confidence in the basics of Drawing with tutorial support

2. Be able to progress to further Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced Distance Learning Drawing and Painting courses with me

How is my work assessed?

We assess your work together, as this is the way you will learn most. When all the exercises in one Assignment are completed, you post me all the completed work, along with your comments and questions for me.

This is an important means of communication between us, and is based on the kind of conversation I would have with a student in person.

I will then give you helpful, positive constructive feedback for you to think about and explore further.

Do I get a certificate at the end?

Yes. You will receive a Certificate of Completion.

3. All basic Art Materials you will need to start, including: 12 pencils, drawing pen, charcoal, box of 24 pastels, spray fixative, rubber, sharpener, A3 cartridge drawing pad, A3 pastel drawing pad, viewfinders, L shapes for finding composition
